Morning everyone.
Going to get snow this evening here.

Peach gets to run in the back yard when there are no puddles, which is most of the time. She and LT are out there twice a day normally. Peach also works with/for me at least a couple times a week.

She and Trixie will be getting new gear, I'll post pics when it gets here. I'm excited to have Peach working in it, as it is the gear she'll be using when she's working for DD#3. I'll be sending pics to her breeder, and we plan on celebrating her birthday at her breeder's so she can show what she's been learning.

She did really good for her mom today. She helped protect and block while DD had a seizure in a store, as did Trixie, and when Trixie said it was ok to go to the car, I asked Peach to lead with the additional command of go load. Peach guided and helped DD to the car without any further instruction and didn't give in to distraction. She went straight to the door, and then took her to the passenger side of the car.

Peach also did an oof and block to let me know a last was coming up behind me a little too quickly and she didn't realize Peach was there. This was a first and we didn't train for that situation, so we now have a base behavior that we can modify.

That's the neatest thing when training your own service dog. They will start tasking for you if they are a good prospect. My friend is trying to train her own service dog with very limited resources and help in her area. Her dog started tasking without training recently, and has been doing a reliable job. The biggest issue she has with him is that he's not very good with being out working in public. That's mostly due to her not having someone willing to help her train him, and not having a decent training program through the pet stores in her area. I'm trying to help, but there's a bit of distance between us.

Do any of you know people around the Atlantic/Anita area of Iowa that are good at helping train dogs with positive approaches who might be willing to help? They don't have to be professionals, just successful and confident with obedience training and willing to help. I can send info for videos to help, but my friend needs someone to do hands on help, as she doesn't do well with reading or watching videos.

I am glad she is able to help your DD#3.
My suggestion would be to contact service dig trainers in your area and see if there are organizations that they may have info on in your friends area. I think there is a big network of of organizations across the states.

You too Bob.

I will be starting my slow to germinate seeds Tomorrow. Today I will finish setting up my seed station.
That reminds me I need to pick up some more hardware cloth for my cage to keep kitty off my seedlings.
I can do that while I take River on her feed store visits. Yup she has scheduled visits. :lau
I get the "Where's River!?!" if I go without her.
