Official Squatch Watchers

Of the 7 eggs from my first breeding group, 5 are from my white girl. If I get many more from her, I'll have to pull her out so I don't keep hatching her progeny.
I would be tempted to get hens from her that might be better layers

The white hen is in her second season of laying, the other two are in their third season. So it could just be because they are older...
Another explanation could be that she likes Hop-a-long better than the older girls. I did have a bunch of unfertile eggs in this bunch.

Got a lot of yard stuff done today. Lilac bush removal is done, sick tree is down, sumacs that needed to come out are out and garden beds are ready to plant. The truck is loaded with as much tree stuff as we could fit. The garden waste center is opening back up on Tuesday. I will have to take the stuff there. There is no other option.

We will be roofing the entire chicken run in a couple weeks. That will save so much hassle in the winter. We got the phone and cable companies to move the lines to the new pole so they are finally out of the way!

Congrats all you hatchers!

14 Cornish chicks moved to the brooder, one left in the brooder (with hobbles). One keet hatched, one more hatching. The other 5 guinea eggs look like goners.

I think the chickens are more tolerant of heat variances and power outages than the keets are. The one keet that hatched looks to have similar leg/feet problems that the two Fridays had.

I’ve got 9 babies in the brooder and gave Lila any pipped viable eggs. The first ones to hatch were stomping around the incubator so I had to remove them. Then temp and humidity went wild. 2 more were done for so with 30 eggs I’m hoping Lila hatches 8 or 9 more. I’ll be looking for a better incubator I guess.

Good morning! About time too lol!
Iv'e been shot this week tired, sore, cranky.
To be honest if it could chew farts it did. One little cyst that hasn't been rowdy in 30 plus years came back to visit.
If memory serves it chewed farts then too!
It is a sort of eruptive vellus cyst, just filled with hair lucky for me visually it pops up in skull base hair line.
I took photos every day, little gross but cool although some visuals are very OMG, WTF and EWWW.
Most fascinating show iv'e seen all week by a landslide, kind of owed me though lol! :)
Wait, you've been shot?!
