Official Squatch Watchers

:frow good morning all

For those who are checking glucose, look into the continuous glucose monitoring systems. The most advertised is the Freestyle Libre 14 day system, but there is another one that is being advertised now, by Dexcom I think. Compare the costs with and without insurance, and see if the cost difference is worth it compared to dinner sticks multiple times a day. DD#3 is reactive hypoglycemic, and it is a lot easier for her to scan when she needs to. Insurance doesn't cover it, so we pay $75 for 2 sensors, which is a total of 28 days of supplies. We have the sensor reader, which also uses the Freestyle Precision test strips if you do need to use a finger stick, but it also works with iPhone and Android. The sensor reader was $70. I know it's a lot of money, but it is something worth researching, especially at 10 finger sticks a day.
They just know......like ESP or something.

My doctor mentioned them. The cost ends up being twice what I pay in strips so for now I stick to sticking.
Hubs coworker got one.....then got an infection where it punctures the skin and had many many doctor visits to fix that. I think the site infection was an oddity not the normal but still....
I was wondering about cost and chance of infection.

Also how easy is it to get knocked off when working. Anything that clips to my belt or the nicotine patches would get scraped off when I was working

How are you doing this morning, Sue?

Good morning Cappy :frow I think I'm doing pretty good all things considered. Working with a cane part of the day and trying to not get knocked over by the dog!! The headaches are getting better, but will be here for ever I believe, just not as bad or as often. Thanks for asking 😊

how are you doing today? How's your new tube ? Have a great Tuesday

So I have been dealing with I don't know what running through the growouts. I'm wondering if its ILT which I have heard is rampant this year. I had two teenagers in for face cleaning and inspection. It was after bed time and once I was done with one I just set her on the floor. She wandered off then I couldn't find her!

My understanding is they are very thin and when placed where they are supposed to go the chance of getting peeled off is very low. The infection.....I don't think he cleaned the site before putting it on. Yes the patient does the application. The meter for these things is smaller than a flip phone. I would lose it for sure.
