At lockup 2 chicks were calling for a sibling. One has always been tardy, but shows up when they call. The still sleep in the nest box. Looked through the coops,yard and fence line. He's black so I could have missed him in the dark. Probably the hawk again. Not one I was going to keep but still.
Have a broody I can't break with the heat.. and found a hidden nest in a tractor, so I through her in there a couple days ago... she didn't sit on the eggs behind the dog house.. but started sitting in the dog house. Gave her the 6 eggs and filled up the incubator with Steve's eggs. She wants to be a mama, she can be a mega mama LOL... Probably a couple more will go broody anyway

I figured gone, but I have had them show up the next day sitting by the coop door with a bloody comb. I assume they got beat up and hid.

Not sure about fertility with the heat, especially Steve's eggs. He has troubles breeding in good weather.
 
I just totally missed the chance to get video of Tinsley sneezing :th He sneezed once, and had the "I'm gonna sneezed again" look on his face. The phone was a whole 5 inches away, and there was plenty of time to grab and video :he. But hey, how many people can say they actually got to say bless you in advanced while watching their chicken getting ready to sneezed, and witness the sneezed.

It is going to be hot....again here. I plan to get the outside stuff done early. That no noise til 8am makes an early riser (me) a bit nutty.
