I must be a glutton for punishment.
I grew some HOT jalapenos this year. I stuffed about 15 with cream cheese, wrapped them in bacon and grilled them the other day. I just finished them off for lunch. Very tasty....and hot.

My pablano peppers were planted VERY late. They are about 3.5' tall now and have quite a few peppers getting decent size. :yesss:

I am trying something new this year. I grew so many onions I need to freeze a bunch. I got a new food saver thingy yesterday. First up oodles of green beans. Next up......so many onions to chop....sooooo many. If you see me crying you will know why. :lau

You make cages? I did meet to buy some of my first hens. She had a van and swaped them in there. Would be a pain in the back of my escape :lau
I do make some cages. With young birds I just put them in cardboard boxes. I have a camper top on the back of my pickup , so I can get in and close the window. Transfer is pretty easy anyway.

I grow a Long keeping onion. Copra is supposed to last 8 months... I just used the last from 2019. 13 months is pretty good LOL not all made it that long,

The first hens I sold , the person shown up with a cardboard box. She forgot the carrier before she went to work. It was like wack a mole with them popping out when another was put in. One of the 3 ran off back to the coop. :gig Fortunately It was the tamest one and I got another box.
A dog carrier is a lot better than a box, for sure! But for just 4 little ones, a box worked ok. I offered to drive to their house, they are about 1/2 mile from us, but they were ok with the box. My guy plays softball with him twice a week, same team. I expect if they have something, we already have it. Over 60 softball league is not very different from T-Ball!

This year I grew candy onions. While sweet(ish) they all look to have cured very well. I got over 100 out of my efforts which is pretty good. I haven't grown these before so don't know how well they store. We also don't have a cold room, cellar or any good place to keep them. Last year was yellow spanish onions. They did very very well in the spare fridge crisper drawers. I ran out in late june dang it.
I will look at the Copra onions to grow next year. Thanks for the name of the variety.

I grew some of those last year too. Yeah not a good storing onion. :(I
This year was candy and red onions. I plan to freeze all the reds. They don't store great either.
We had some extremely tasty onion rings though. :drool

Tonight....chicken pot pie from scratch. Hubs wants meatloaf Sunday. I should show him the $ of hamburger.....

I handed the no butt kid over in a biscuit box from Bojangles perfect size and pre made air holes.
The exchange looked weird at best two women in masks with a biscuit box one had a gang of children behind her and one had a gang of fat chickens.
If I didn't look shifty before im pretty sure that fixed it.:)

You won a lifetime shifty status with a rooster in a baby swing Chicky.

Nah, im sure that looked perfectly innocent unless you caught a glimpse of the wesson oil or were close enough to hear the swing's music.
That thing plays twinkle twinkle little star an ungodly long time on just a couple of cranks.
They don't make them like that anymore lol.;)
