Firstly before I start let me make clear so this dosent sound too bad.
I don't get any help with the chickens, if I need another set of hands im just out of luck.
Secondly, my house is right on the road if im where the coop is im extremely visible nowhere to hide so I don't even try.
My rooster Negan somehow got the majority of his tush covered in pine resin and was collecting leaves, dirt, acorns etc on his rear.
Resin won't wash off, dust bathing made it worse so last option was a butt cut, a two person job a holder and a snipper.
Negan is a doll though, he's o.k if it just feels like somebody has him so I had the bright idea to stick him backwards in an old baby swing to get that mess off him.
I got my stuff together, scissors a towel to cover his head and some oil so he wouldn't collect more resin the only edible oil I had was a jug of wesson an econo jug.
I set up my barber shop near the coop in the shade and grabbed my only customer.
I toweled his head, tipped him down in the seat rested his bottom on the tray and waited to see if it was even remotely going to work lol.
In a minute or two he was asleep and I got to work and it wasn't long before I heard honking, tires squealing and yelling behind me.
My first thought was an accident, people wreck all the time on this road but nope, it was people about to wreck watching me ungunk a rooster.
I had people stop and pull in my driveway and the waves, iv'e never waved so much in my entire life.
Poor Negan woke up to a breeze and an audience and I have to wave at least a couple times a week now.
I still don't get any help lol.
I’m curious about that swing picture. Could you post it again? I gave mine a swing but they won’t go near it.
It is more of a story/set of interesting events really. I will let Chicky tell it. She has a wonderful way with words.
