12 mixed ducklings!

Thanks! It isn't as efficient as it could/should be but is ok.
I have wasted space between the hoop run and dog kennel, behind the chicken run, around the rose bush and along the back of the house. It is a constantly changing/evolving thing back there.
OH!!! I did carrots in pots again this year. I start them in the greenhouse in 10" deep by as big around as I can easily move pots. I did 6 pots this year and filled 3-4 one gallon zip bags. For carrots that is the only way I can grow them. We have clay it is way to hard for root veggies. I run the carrot soil through a 1/4" grid sifter to get sticks and rocks out. Each spring I dump all that soil in my wheelbarrow and add composted steer manure then sift it again. It works well.
Just water EVERY day.
Once you get started it’s hard to stop! Lol! Watering is a big issue for me. I can’t do it in the mornings, just evenings. But people insist that’s bad. I have been trying to get drip irrigation but no one actually carries it. I have to buy it online, but since I have no clue about what I need, etc. I’m leary of getting it online. I did end up buying an incubator last night :gig
It’s one of those oval shaped ones, Janone? I think. I saw it on Incubator warehouse, but they were sold out. I ended up finding it on Amazon, and cheaper! I ended up using a card I shredded years ago and had to guess at the expireation date. I guess it worked because it’s shipped already:lau
The account and card are still good, I just shredded it to keep from using it.

I have not been able to be online here very much, AirBnB was a little problem this weekend. Who would think that they could get away with having this dog and us not noticing? These people completely ignored us when we asked them if they were bringing a dog. So, we thought that they did not have a dog. Or sometimes messages do not go through. On Saturday about dinner time, we are sitting on the back patio/carport and we notice them taking a dog into the living room door! They had to have seen us sitting there and realized that they were busted. So in a few minutes, the guy goes out for a walk with the dog, first time ever. When he came back my husband went out and had a nice friendly chat.View attachment 2313308
All this to avoid the $25.00 extra cleaning fee for a dog. I would have just sent the fee, and not said a word to them. My husband is too nice, now I have to decide what kind of review to leave about these scammers.:barnie
An honest one. Unlike them. No need to be rude or anything, but definitely don’t skip this “little” detail. By the way- I’m not suggesting you would be rude ;)

I’ve heard a lot of people feed the wild animals in a different part of their property hoping it keeps them away from their gardens. I’ve never tried that though.

I don't feed them on purpose. They steal my sunflowers. I should press charges!!

I am not as fond of the drip systems as I wanted to be. I found in my garden that the spray emitters end up ripping up leaves and blocked by taller plants.
The actual adjustable drip tips would be a better choice. Tomatoes would need at least 2 per plant while peppers could get by with one each.
For closely planted (beans, peas, radish, lettuce etc) I would recommend a soaker hose.
I water at night more than in the morning. The big reason to not water at night is it can allow powdery mildew to take hold. Tomatoes should be watered from the bottom. No you cannot stop the rain so sometimes diseases happen anyway.
My hot peppers despise being watered from above. They act like the cold water is painful and go all saggy leaf until they warm up again.

The drip kind is the one I want, but keep finding just the sprayers. I do have soaker hoses. I just need to put in actual effort. I just don’t see it making a difference so I quit (for now). I have a thousand projects I want/need to do and get overwhelmed when I actually work on them. I need something like a life coach to get me organized

That is why I could not go and talk to the guy! I would tell him what I really think. I have time to think about it. I am not reviewing him until he reviews us. Or, the very last minute if he does not leave one.:duc We are not perfect, and at least they did not trash the place. But, other hosts should know this guy cheats.

I totally understand needing a life coach. 🤨 I could use one myself.

I make lists, write down estimated time to do said task, set timers, try to stay on task and STILL find myself behind.

These are the drip ends my fishy friend.......

Tip of the day.......heat the hose with a lighter to make inserting easier. ;)
