good evening everybody! I had an unusually productive Saturday. The dog spazzed out at about 5 am, we have no idea what happened but she ended up not moving her back legs again. Thank fully it didn’t last this time. Last year she started dragging a rear foot just a bit and one day she just couldn’t move her gack legs at all. Herniated and/or compressed discs and arthritis, but no nerve damage, thankfully!
A friend came by to get some more quail eggs, yay! Still have 4 dz to eat though. I need more customers!
I managed to deep clean the buns and the quail in the bun cage, cleaned the coop, fixed their door finally and hang the nest boxes. I’m pooped!
Unfortunately the bedding I bought has a smell to it and seems to be very fine and fluffy. Not what I thought I was buying. I hope they’ll be okay.
We found three eggs!! They’re first! Yay
Wow. Reading what I did, it doesn’t sound like much, but I swear it took all day.

I hope your doggie never has another episode. :th

We all know there are a lot of steps to doing what you got done. ;)

You still got more done than I did.

Good afternoon everyone!

We did some chicken shuffling this morning and I did some more cull/keep decisions this afternoon. I have a lady that wants one of my Jubilee cockerels.

When I was only my way back to the house from sorting, I found this:

I thought the guineas were done laying for the season. NOPE. They just switched from the dirt pile in the back yard to the one in the front yard.
Dang, I could sell some guineas for sure.

I went to the swap in Rustburg today. Only sold one pair of chickens. Very disappointed. I did find a male bunny unrelated to my does, and he's quite a pretty color.
Got up early today, like 5:30 am. I actually got everything loaded up early. They gave out free food and drinks today, so that was nice. I got gas today for $1.55 ! Picked up a few items at Walmart. Once I got home I put away all the chickens. But did not unload the gear from my truck yet. Hubby wants me to take garbage to the dump in the morning. Ugh, I will have to unload the truck first.
I did get ten feet of hardware cloth on the new run I am building for the Seramas. So the apron is on , and a foot up the side. One side left to go.

Whereas I also hope not, she is a 14 yr old coonhound, so she’s definitely up there. We got her a week shy of her 8th birthday, apparently, from a shelter and she just recently has gotten used to me. I think she lived with guys in her early years. I’m in a huge dilemma with her. We’re not dog people apparently, but I love dogs and would love to get another, but hubs absolutely will NOT do commands or discipline. He was the same way with the kid. :he It’s very confusing for them to have only one person train them while the other is “whatever, as long as it’s not directed at me”. Any advice? I have a nasty gag reflex when it comes to dog poop so I don’t do the walking. And I can’t go with them because when he gets the poop, he squishes the bag before he ties it🤮🤮

I wish we had swaps :( The sound like fun.

Awwwww extra hugs for the old girl. I hope my coon hound mix makes it to 14 too.

Here...I do the work and hubs gets the hugs. :hmm
All poop is mine to clean up. For reals....mine have never gone poop or pee while on leash. I run them in the kennel playing ball before we do a walk. Poo ends up deposited at home that way.
River (bloodhound that was spayed on Wednesday) did her business here at 4am. We picked her up at 5pm. She whined all the way home. Once inside she was desperate for her potty space. 😳

I would smack the tar out of my hubs for poop bag squishing. What if it broke open. 😳🤢🤮

While the dogs here will go to hubs for petting when he gets home from work any other time they will leave his side to come to me. They know who passes out the treats.;)

Any suggestions on a new microwave?
I put a corning ware microwave glass pot in the microwave. Started the microwave. Flash and a poof ...microwave went dead smelling inside of burning plastic. Nothing obviously burnt without taking it apart. It's from 1995... so doubtful if parts would be available.. Outlet works.

Sounds like he's trying to gross you out.

I tried selling some of the 12+ home grown ones I have, but I think, where I am, people stop brooding chicks/keets in early/mid-august. They don't want to go into winter with half grown birds.
Here, they would like bigger ones but since small ones are cheaper they often opt for them. I used to sell all the guineas I could hatch.
