Happy Birthday Chicky!

I always joke if neighbors complain about roosters, get guineas. They will be asking you to bring roosters back.
The zoning inspector is the best bet for information on regulations. If you don't want to say you already live there say you are looking to move into the area.

That is a good idea. I know google was no help in learning if city over rides county or the other way round.

No one complained when I had 42 chickens here. Yeah that was a bit much even for me. Current numbers are 19 chickens and 7 ducks. Seven of the chickens are elderly.....not that THAT actually matters.

So...um...anyone have any good advice on getting rid of dead mouse smell? 😖

Critter remains have been disposed of, but the stench lingers on...

Where was it located? Inside? Coop? Garage?

That is a stink one never forgets. 🤮

Worse: bedroom closet. They made a nest in the back corner of a top shelf we use to store bedding. The bedding seems to have helped insulate the stench so we didn’t catch it right away :sick

We are washing everything thoroughly and have cleaned and disinfected the shelf. Yet the stench remains...

OH NO!!

Was it touching a wall?

I would scrub well with bleach water and then use kilz primer then repaint the closet.

Not actually touching the wall, mercifully. Just difficult to find/ reach :rant
I bet we still have some Kilz in the garage...I will ask DH. Thanks Henny :hugs

I do not envy you that task at all Chooky. I wonder if setting/sprinkling baking soda in the area would help before having to go in a confined space with the smell.

Definitely worth trying! We are trying to air it out right now (closet door open, bedroom door closed, all windows open and a fan blowing) but later we will need to close the closet door to make the bedroom habitable tonight. I will put some dishes of baking soda in there before I close it up again.
