Official Squatch Watchers

Happy Belated Rae. I was trying to get work done this weekend.

Been having roost issues. In the nest box is not the acceptable place.

I finally put an edge on the long shelf they sometimes use. Originally I put it up to stop them from roosting on the nest boxes. I've moved the boxes but the screws holding the shelf up are so covered in poo I can't take it down. So I covered the shelf and up the wall with old feed bags. With the edge finally on I put stall dry on it. Hopefully they will roost on it.

Also Miss Merida got a new high rise apartment. She needed more room and I found a old dog crate on FB marketplace. Took it apart and repainted it. They make farm implement paint. So that's what I used. I don't recommend taking a crate apart. LOL

Wow, that's an interesting bug - don't think I've ever seen or heard of it before. Thanks for sharing it .
I never heard of them either

I never knew the official name for them. We always called them "gold bugs" or "suction beetles". Pretty little things.

Looks good! Those crates can be a real wrestling match.

That farm implement paint should hold up very well.

Good morning Rae 😊 Have a great Sunday!! hope you get to relax some today
That's great you got to spend time with your parents 🤗
Teething is never fun and molars 😳, I was a wimp at breast feeding, one bit and they were pretty much done. I'd never heard of dry nursing before 🤔 I can understand it, just never heard of it.
After church, DH and I cleaned (I didn't do much cleaning Saturday). When my mom took the boys, I got a bath and then scrubbed all three bathroom sinks (the master has a double vanity) and both toilets. I still have my tub soaking. I'll be scrubbing that and cleaning the living room and office later.

Dry nursing is exactly what it sounds like. Nursing when there is no milk or after the milk is gone. I can't stand it. It's like fingernails on a chalk board to my nerves.
Perhaps a life? ;) Just kidding.
We think they are Japanese beetles that look just like ladybugs, but bite 😞 and they can stink as well.
Your so right, they are coming through the door when it opens or closes and they came come through the crack when its closed 😲. The other day we had so many it looked like the door was moving!! Ewww that's gross 🤮
I hate those things. They like biting me and my boys. We get inundated with them every fall. I go around the house with a bottle of water with an inch or two of water in the bottom and knock them in or suck them up. They eventually drown and I flush them. They like to congregate around lights on the ceiling.

Good afternoon Nunny 😊 hope you had some time to relax over the weekend. That's some crazy roosting they are doing 🙄 did they do better last night?

We have a large dog crate, so I know exactly what you mean 😵 its horrible to deal with in any respect. I'm glad we don't use it anymore. The only thing we've used it for in a couple years is holding chickens or pigs.

I don't think I really did anything after coming home from running errands and feeding the chickens.

That does not sound fun, but I can understand why it's done, I was a big scaredy cat when it came to being bit there 😳 I can only imagine how that would be.

We had bugs in Virginia, but this seems like all the bugs are here in Tennessee 😱, we have ladybugs, stink bugs and of course the ticks 😬.

Nooo, iv'e got one of those life things.
It drove me nutty enough to draw farting crickets.:p
