As for muck boots... I like the Tractor Supply ones. They are neoprene and rubber so softer around the leg then a rain boot. I still have my original pair I bought 4 or 5 years ago. Not for cold weather but I really like them. I have sloggers too but they have deep treads. You can easily hose them out but I'd have to do that multiple times a day in mud season. So for me the lightly treaded TSC boots are easier. In winter I did get a pair of solid soled winter boots from Walmart. Made like a molded rain boot but with warm insides. My yard claimed the life of 2 pair of winter boots. Mud sucked the bottoms right off. I don't want to pay a ton of money for something that's going to be mud and poo covered the first time they are used.
Weather here has been rediculous. Had snow the other day. Now its mid 60's. I got 3 loads of wood chips to move. I need a tractor. Hauling by hand is no fun!
Have some weird bird cases in the house too. Pinky my white satin showgirl was limping. Now he doesn't want to walk. Have a Swedish Flower cockerel doing the same. A Swedish Flower pullet has stroke like symptoms. Off balance, holds one wing low, trips and then just lays on her side. Trying activated charcoal in case of toxins and giving extra vitamins. Not sure what the H is going on out there.
PancakesGood morning everyone.
an early breakfast for y'all.
It looks like a decent day in the forecast. I hope everyone gets a decent day.
The pullets are roosting regularly now! That made me happy to see.
Yesterday Tilly, Sable and even River spent 2 hours yelling at a fox in the alley to move along. It didn't. That critter is FAR to bold.

Yikes! That’s just too hotSeriously, I swung the backdoor open and opened the hallway window.
It is 86 degrees in this mofo!
Good afternoon everybody
Pancakeshavent had some in quite a while. Thanks
Sorry to hear about the fox.

My ducks need to get out more.
Sitting outside with them. They WERE happily playing in the bee waterer when a terrifyingly terrifying black cap chickadee landed in the top of the tree above them. Mass panic ensued.
Now if Aurora would stop trying to fight Bitty through the wire.![]()
Good evening im tired, I dropped my key and Jerry took off with it which resulted in about a half hour game of keep away between me and the littles.
I locked my phone in the coop so I was trying to get back inside.
Tomorrow should be a better day, iv'e got about 12lbs of gummi bears coming, regular, sour, sherbet and chocolate covered plus a case of nerds.
Nunny I know what those symptoms sound like but nearly anything can mimic the "m" word.
Anyways I feel for you and your birds going through all that.
Lol, killer chickadee!!!
And the Bitty fighting, maybe she's saying "bring it on" behind that wire.![]()

It was crazy!! What drew my attention was Bitty's very distinct growl. I was clear across the yard. Aurora knows not who she tangles with in that fight. Bitty can put a whoop on when needed.
Oh lord those growlers are serious!
I didn't know she growled.
Only growler here is Hobo.....Aurora has got to be nuts messing with a growler.![]()
