FRIDAY! :yesss:

While my son is very frustrated by the loss of his car and struggles to get the insurance company moving their butts he is physically doing better. They are insisting he release the car to them before they do an assessment. Folks, THAT is not recommended. If you ever have a car in a bad wreck like this do NOT release the car to insurance until you are satisfied with the settlement.
He will beheading to the tow yard this afternoon to do a video of all the damage to send to them. Due to covid the insurance company is not willing to go to the tow yard to do the assessment. They wanted him to release the car to them, they would have the scrap yard tow it to the scrap yards location and assess it there. UM NO. That is highly irregular even for this virus situation.

Tomorrow he will be heading out to look at a couple cars. He went a couple days ago to the dealership where he bought his other car. They are telling him they absolutely cannot get what he is looking for. That is a falsehood. He found the exact car he is looking at in 4 associated dealerships within 40-50 miles.

Thats a head scratcher. But, you're right, none of that is okay. Good to hear he’s doing better.

They probably want to steer him into get something newer and more expensive.

It is. It's also something that people generally don't understand the "how this works" part. With hubs and my son both having experience in the towing industry they both know a lot about the steps necessary to get it done.

People under stress, this kind of wreck definitely causes that, tend to forget what they already knew too.
Add the forced car shopping in covid times and stress triples.
