The new TATER CRATE has arrived!!!!! :wee

Imma be crating that screamin demon of a pup going forward so I can get things done around here. Just a couple hours a day but it is SOOOOOO needed!

Her other crate door broke beyond repair. I am hoping this all wire one will be easier for me to shove her big butt into.

Good morning! My pups learn to like their crate, @21hens-incharge ! Once when we moved to a new house, I put the crate in the living room, in the open, while we were moving in and did not know where the final "dog home" corner would be. The dog went in the dark cubby under the stairs that was in the back porch, some old coal chute back in the day, and curled up and took a nap. That was where the crate went. Perfect spot, put a dog door in the back porch door, close the kitchen door to the porch, best place we had ever had her, in her own bedroom.

It's crazy. She crates up just fine during the day for my son and sleeps in her crate by choice at night with the door open even. For me it's like trying to shove a picnic marshmallow through a straw.....effort is required.

Oh man just got in from watering the herd and ended up flooding some mouse holes snacks were popping up everywhere.
I don't think I've ever seen them be quite so vicious, even little Homer was chowing down on those soggy Mickeys.
I feel kinda bad but I know they're destructive vermin, uh were destructive vermin.

They are now good rodents.

I caught a rat size opossum. Thought about releasing somewhere else tonight but a storm is coming in , so I didn't.

This morning I found wings of a poult in the poultry yard and a head up by the house. Hoping they are from the same bird, but the head looks too big for the wings.
Good thing I have too many.

Yesterday's poult was wandering around again. Mom was off the nest with 2 more. They are reunited. Although if this happens again I may have to set up another brooder. I have 4 already in the house.

I agree with @Molpet good rodent = dead rodent. Go chickens!

Those chickens are the best cats I've ever had.
I got over the feeling bad thing pretty fast, some of them were little so I had a fleeting "omg babies!" moment.
Then Oprah smacked one on top of my foot and snapped my butt out of it.:lau
