For such a cute game it is kinda brutal, nearly everything can kill you.
At least the kids are safe, mercy is shown up until they're teenagers after that they're fair game.
I call corn duty, beats my plans of washing the curtains by a mile.

The corn now has 8' tall pvc frame holding plastic. The entire garden and chicken fence has plastic and tarps screwed in place.
No need for nasty chemicals on my plants or birds. Bitty will be grateful. I will also be closing her BIG vent on the fence side.

Laundry has been run and tomatoes (granted there weren't many) are in the pot cooking down in prep for freezing.

Good morning everyone. It seems the oldest 2 are already enrolled in virtual schooling. Dd #1 has already applied for the youngest to be enrolled too. I think the end of Sept. is the next time to apply to go to the school we want to get them into.

Dh did NOT take the news well. Our house has been topsy-turvy since they moved in. We've taken it in stride. BUT, one of the biggest complaints is a lack of help when it comes to household chores. Not from the kids, but from their mother.

With this news, and her going to work, that means I'm responsible to make sure they understand, and do their schooling, do all the cooking, and do all the cleaning, not to mention coops chores, etc. I am 64, have had a couple serious bouts with cancer, and am currently at Stage IV, that has metastasized. I take chemo medications to stop/slow down the spread. These chemo meds come with side effects, and some days, even several days in a row, the side effects hit me harder than other times. Yes, I have many good days, but I simply don't have the strength, stamina, and abilities I had even as little as 7 years ago, to be able to keep pace on a steady, continuous basis. All I can say is, I'll do the best I can.

I have mentioned that when she gets a few paychecks under her belt, I want her to consider having someone come in weekly, or at least twice a month, to dust, vacuum, and scrub the floors. You have no idea how tremendous of a help that would be. She's agreeable to the idea.

Any time there is extended family, kids, their kids, in laws, etc it is difficult at best. With everything you are and have been going through it is extraordinarily exhausting and difficult.

Good morning folks

We got good news yesterday, and bad news. Dr. called, and will let Dd #1 know something on Monday. That's the good news.

At 6 pm, they posted online, that the kids did not get into the school we applied for. No openings. Dang it. Dd #1 is now going to apply for virtual schooling again. This is one heck of an imposition on me, BUT I'd rather do that, than send them to the assigned/designated school for our residence. Even the kids would rather do virtual schooling than return to the assigned/designated school. It's that bad of a school.

Omg, don't ever get the Sims 4 if you'd like to have some semblance of a normal life.

It's going to be another rough day here.

The tree guys are coming to trim ours. The neighbor is having the privacy fence power washed and hen stained so I need to hang plastic to protect my chemical free garden and my chickens.

Taking volunteers to slide in behind the 9' tall corn and try to mount pvc pipes with plastic on them..............anyone?

The tree guy did AMAZING with my trees!! He is returning tomorrow to do the tree in the kennel and 2 remaining dead branches above my new shop.
The hens say I should only expect scrambled eggs this week.

Thanks for the encouragement everyone. We'll muddle through. The Lord has a way of helping me manage. I remind myself of the song, "got both ends meeting in the middle, but I can's seem to get em tied". That's pretty much the story of my life. I can't really complain much. There are plenty of people that can't get both ends meeting in the middle, in their lives. The hardest task for me, is the floors. That's why I asked Dd #1 to consider having someone come in, and help with that. The rest, I can manage.

21hens, other than to cut down a huge tree that was right next to the house, so we hired someone, Dh IS my tree guy. Every time I'd see him get the chainsaw(s), and ladder, I'd shudder. One time I mentioned to him that he was making me one step closer to a wealthier lifestyle. He was not amused. Oh well. Glad they did a good job for you.

I cringe when anyone is up in a tree. It freaks me out.

It was just one guy doing all that work here. Hubs stayed out to help lower the bigger branches and assist wherever he could. It was a tremendous amount of work and he was the best bid by far....like really really far.

He did an excellent job on the trees. I think he is worth more than he charged.
