Good thing I have several boxes of lids left from past projects when I over-purchased. I always am going to make a bunce, and after a batch, I crap out. I lucked out at Wal-Mart. Many many stores here have been out of lids for ages. I was in Wal-Mart in the snooty side of town for test strips.....canning wasn't very many aisles away so I went to check. There were zero jars or wide mouth lids but there was one lonely case of the small mouth lids!!!

I am the proud hoarder of 150+ lids. :oops:

I am not at your level! I stock wide mouth jars and lids only, that works for everything I can.

I don't can pickles so the narrow are ok here. I think I own a dozen wide mouth but several dozen small mouth.
It's all in what one needs to can. :D

Great idea! I am in that "snooty" area, probably why Ace had what I wanted. I wanted a new gasket this year, last year it was very persnickety. Gasket was at Ace! It was the last one, too. I will go check out the Walmart! (But I really probably have more lids than jars)!

I just like how easy it is to pack chicken breast meat in the wide mouths. Got more boys than freezer space.

Lids don't expire. ;)

They are also a rare thing these days so do stock up if you can/plan to can this year and next.

That is a good thing, some of my lids are from the 90's! :oops: Don't know how many times I have moved those things, I just couldn't give up my old fav pressure canner. I found a big nice oldie at an estate sale a couple of years ago, and I had not used it once since I got the newer oldie, so I finally passed it on to a fellow AZ chicken raiser who has never canned her extra boys.
I have 5 boxes of lids -- only 60 -- I'm not in your league! (I just went and checked, one with the rings). Can never have too many! :lauThe nice new jars I just got have rings and lids included.

I am a grape of any kind fan. Chickens only get the brown mushy ones here!
