Official Squatch Watchers

Found 2 chicken hens dead in the same coop. One had been looking poorly since the heat started. Not tame enough to bring in without stressing them.
They were closely related and part CX, which don't live too long. They were from 2018 I think.
They were good broodies if given chicks, but broke most eggs due to their weight.
At least they were in a full coop and not in the coop that only has 8 hens. ... And it's the day before garbage day.
Glad they aren't pets so it's just an aww. Sad but not heart wrenching.

Sorry Mo. :hugs

Pets or not it is still a real bummer.

So sorry Mo :hugs

Eh I have too many because that way I don't get too attached... too many predators and I knew the CX blood would make them short lived. I have only lost one other during a heat wave, usually it's when the temperature goes up and down rapidly.
Still makes one sad.

I made it! :bow :th
Still cleaning up loose ends but the 10-12 hrs days are done. Until next year.
I got a lot of reading to catch up on.
The chickens are infested with mites as is one bunny. I got ivermectin for her and we're working in the girls and their coop.
the eggs are still okay, right? I give them to my neighbors so I want to be certain. We havent started meds yet. We're cleaning and giving them extra dust baths in just dirt with extra sand. He wants to use DE. I'll let him figure that one out. He's aware it messes with the bees. See yall in a bit as I plug aling reading your adventures these last few weeks :hugs

Ivermectin on the chickens should work for lice but not as well as on mites.
My favorite thing to use is Elector PSP. Costs like there is gold in it but you don't need much and it works. I know you're in Ohio somewhere, if close enough to 44026 I can sell you some PSP.

There is an egg withdrawal using ivermectin. I think 2 weeks. There is not one with PSP.

Good morning!
I've got no idea what happened during the night but both roosters were highly inappropriate with my feet this morning.
I didn't even have on my ladybug boots, those harlots are always trouble. :D

Oh that is a raisin of a joke Henny lol!

Raisins on sweet potato is awesome.
I add a little cinnamon too omg, so good.

Ana! Good to hear from you.
Did I miss Fishy wanting to breed betas?
I must have, but I'm an awful reader sometimes.
I faintly remember how to do that, I know the male needs live food to jumpstart his baby making bubble nest.
It has been years though so I'm sure I've forgotten more.:)
The betta couple did not work out. She killed her first friend ans didnt realize so I go get another one and then catch her in the act. He’s doing fine thankfully! It too him a few days to fully recover. I moved her into the only appropriate tank and she went missing within hours. I think the Yoyo’s had something to do with that. I wonder if its time to move them into the big boy tank with the angels, bichirs, and a synodontis. They arent very big though 🤷🏻‍♀️

Omg, rained just long enough to soak me while I was locking up and I do mean soak.
Of course I did spend a ton of time calling Homer, she finally ran out of my mower bagger, I'd taken it off to fix a hole.
It did motivate me to hang a clothes line I've been meaning to hang out on my back porch since I was wearing crap that hates the dryer.

Ugh, the summer is awful for chickens.
Pets or no sucks to lose birds.

Why?? I even offer coffee and snacks and they still bail on me.
Oh I freaking hate it.
I get that a lot too. Often they never even call back to schedule a quote
Wow so much fish drama lol!
You wouldn't think they'd be capable of drama but I know for a fact that they are.:)

It's been busy here and a sad event.

The busy part was getting ready for concrete. Yup I dug out 2 flower beds and planted what I could in new areas out back. The rest waits in pots.
The garden is producing well. That means a lot of processing has been going on.

The sad event is Bitty passed away. I will miss my tiny clown.
:hugsAw! I’m sorry!! 😢
