So sorry MoWell that lonely only poult was dead this morning.... probably was something wrong with it and that's why the moms didn't want it
Good morning HennyGood morning everyone.
It should be a nice day here only hitting the upper 60's. Yesterday was crazy windy so it was hard to work outside but we still did what we could. I had strawberry plants in pots to small to consider winter safe. They are now in one of the raised beds and a lot of clean up went on.
Today I need to clean coops and install those latches on the bigger coops windows.
We are forecast to be getting lows at 30° this week. I don't want that with whipping winds blowing on the birds while sleeping. No worries they have vents in addition to the windows.
I also STILL have some tulip bulbs that really need planted and even a couple plants. Looks like I have a big list again.

Good morning MoMorning all
Owl got a 3 months old poult. Rigor hadn't set. 70f at sunrise. Legs hadn't been touched so I skinned them. A whole .73 of a lbs for bone in. I guess it will make a meal.
This poult's mom stayed in the coop but he decided he was a big boy and flew 20 ft in the trees for a week now. She would call for him but he wouldn't listen.

Good morning Mo, have a great day... So sorry about the poults

Hello everyone. Sorry for the losses. I've unfortunately had a few myself. Nothing I could have done to prevent them but it still stinks.

Little bantam brahma. Her poor little face was hot to the touch and almost hard feeling. This picture is after a small dose of benadryl. The swelling had gone down some. She looks even better this morning. She was complaining too so thats a good sign.

Got a decent harvest from my untended chicken planted tomato garden. LOL You can see they are waiting for their share. I don't eat tomatoes so they all went to the chickens. These grew in the small momma pen run that's attached to the medium coop. The heavy snow that did so much damage to the run broke the door off its hinges. Not a hard fix but I didn't need the pen so just never got around to fixing it. I think the chickens prefer the tomato garden.
My neighbor to the east has his sweatpants in a knot. I swear he used to mow the lawn 2x a week. I hadn't seen him out mowing a lot this summer and his trash can would stay at the road longer than usual.
So when I mowed the lawn before he did I cut a straight line down the yard a lawnmower width onto his property. It was on his property because he has a wood pile on mine that prevents me from driving the mower down that side while staying strictly on "my property". I've always driven around the wood pile. It's how I access that back half if property to mow it.
He left a letter in my mailbox saying I only own a foot of my driveway. I've talked to the man once in the 3 years I've lived here. The letter was long and drawn out. About how he talked to old roommate who remembers talking to the previous owner. (Who's name he didn't remember correctly) And I should know he paid and had some trees cut down before I moved in. That part of my yard was given to me to make a driveway from his property. Blah blah blah.
Well... I have the original paperwork from building the house. I have my deed to the property. And I have a friend with a metal detector. View attachment 2861061
I found the property pin from my original parcel that contains the house. And I own 15.5 ft over my driveway to the east. So 5 ft off that east side. His wood pile is entirely on my property.
I measured all the way down my driveway in 20 ft increments. I got another note in my mailbox.
"Does the wood pile really bother you that much?"
No. I didn't. Which is why I never said anything. But you brought it up so I did my research. Contacted a surveyor and got as much information as possible. ($1200 estimate to have it professionally done) Marked where it is and now he's more upset. Mind he did mow the lawn again after his first note. And mowed right up to my driveway.

So not sure what his problem is but I drafted my own letter. Politely told him to pound salt. If he wants to pay and have it surveyed he can. If he doesn't want me driving around the pile then he needs to move it.
I've gotten a good laugh out friends of mine reaction to how fired up I am. They are shocked. "You're so easy going and laid back." I am until you startwith me.
We shall see how my letter goes over. And I'll be looking for more of the pins.
Good morning Nunny, have a great day and just cause
