Keep them out of the sunlight, and protect their eyes from bright light. IF their pediatrician will give them a gamaglobulin shot, it helps lessen the severity.

Shingles happens when you’ve had chicken pox (or the vaccine), and after time your immunity wanes and the virus, which you will always have in your system because it is a herpes virus, flares up. Someone who hasn’t had it before can catch chicken pox by coming into contact with shingles sores. Which is what happened here. They usually tell you to keep the sores covered but the sores were on my face and my kids were curious about them. Oddly enough, more people are getting shingles now because we used to get natural boosters by coming into contact with kids with the virus which reactivates natural immunity. Now that it is rarer for kids to get chicken pox naturally, adult immunity doesn’t get boosted. Shingles used to really only be a nursing home affliction, not something a parent with young kids or teenagers would get.Oh no! When it rains it pours. Your theory makes sense about the youngest two. Honestly, i had to reread your post a bit because I never heard of anyone catching chickenpox from shingles. Its always the other way around![]()
Oh no, I'm so sorry , hoping for quick healingGood afternoon everyone,
Guess what? More sickness. Thing 1 has chicken pox. I tried to keep the boys from touching my face when I had shingles, apparently, it wasn't completely successful. He seems pretty normal energy wise, but is more cuddly than normal, and itchy. Thing 2 and the Milk Drinker aren't showing any signs at this point. I really thought they would be the ones to catch it first, since I'm still nursing them and they are close to me more often. I'm hoping they miss out on it because I'm still nursing them. Logistically speaking, They've been getting antibodies for the virus since I first broke out in shingles. So, I can hope.
Good morning HennyI am hoping for healing Rae.
Morning all.
I got the quilt blocks made and horizontal rows done. I need to sew those together and decide if I am adding borders.
It's 52 wide by 78 long. Hubs is never happy unless it's a queen size quilt.
I only had a tiny amount of one fabric so it is what it is lol.
Pics later this morning.

I love it!Ok so...it is not ironed, not trimmed, no borders added but here's all I could get from the fabric I had.
I am out of colorful solids and 1000% out of the dots. I d have 3+ yards of the white still.
I blame this quilt on the dots. I bought a remnant years ago and rummaging in my stash ran across it. It was just enough to get 24 squares at 5x5. This is a disappearing 9 patch block.
Names for the quilt....
Seeing spots
A little twisted
Box of crayons

I totally agree with your assessment. It's bright, colorful, and beautiful.Ok so...it is not ironed, not trimmed, no borders added but here's all I could get from the fabric I had.
