Hi everybody :frow

Managed to sweep the hall and living room, including picking up stuff from the floor this morning. This afternoon I managed all three fish tanks :ya:ya:ya

Henny, I vote for Seeing Spots. You are so quick! Didnt you just start it yesterday (or Friday)? Either one, thats super fast to me.

I confess to doing zero housework all weekend....well I did some laundry.

I did start it mid day Thursday, didn't touch it Friday then worked on it on and off yesterday and this morning.

It is a super simple pattern and the blocks are really big so that made it go fast.

I am out of colorful solids and 1000% out of the dots. I do have 3+ yards of the white still.
I blame this quilt on the dots. I bought a remnant years ago and rummaging in my stash ran across it. It was just enough to get 24 squares at 5x5. This is a disappearing 9 patch block.

Dh bought a new toy. The rats have gotten horrible out in the coop this year. While we've had them off, and on, usually flooding the tunnels and baiting them, stops them. Not this time. They're bad this year. Dh decided he needed one of those little pitchfork on a pole thingys (A gig).

The gig arrived, so he and grandson went to solve the rat problem. One would flood the tunnel, the other would stab the rats when they emerged. Grand decided he would stab, while Dh flooded. Here we go. When the tunnel got a bit flooded, out shot a couple rats. One made it to the bottom of the fence, but grand stabbed it. Oops, the hook on the tines caught on the fence. (Yes, those have to be filed down a bit). Got it loose from the fence, but had trouble getting the rat off. Ok, once again, we're ready. More flooding, and 4 rats shoot out at once. He got 1 more. Out of 6 rats they got 2. Not so bad, considering. Yes, they will file the hook part down a little, and keep at it. Now they know that rats are very fast, when running for their lives.

Have you heard of Joseph Carter the Mink man on youtube? He hunts rats with Mink and dogs. he'll use the mink to flush out the rats and the dogs to catch the runners. Catching the runners is the hardest part of hunting rats.

Have you thought about putting a net over where they run out? or do they run out in more than one place?
