I think the high humidity, cold and big combs makes it difficult to prevent. So moving to warmer climate, smaller combs or climate controlled coops. I'm going with smaller combs. The previous roosters have lost most of their combs. The part dark Cornish have some frostbite but nowhere as bad as the straight combs

So far so good with the chickens here :fl I still cannot get Mt. Poopmore out. Its a row of solid mounds of poo. I thought hubs just didnt want to deal with it so I get a decent shovel and tried to scoop, then bash, then stab, nada! 🤣. Oh well. I’ll keep trying whenever it gets above freezing. Bunnies also seem fine. :fl They are staying covered unless its sunny out and have plenty of hay that i just changed out yesterday. I give them all hot water each day. Ive been microwaving their carrots as i keep them in the fridge of course. They seem to like it 😂
Im trying to clean, but the motivation doesnt exist. Im still doing it, just slowly.
 
Good morning everyone. Yesterday morning, I began cranking some good music through my new sound system. Everybody started cleaning house. That's the most cleaning, at once, that it's gotten in a long time. It's not up to where I had it before the kids all moved in, but it's fairly close. It looks really nice. With everyone pitching in, it wasn't a drudge on just one person, and it got done pretty quick. I rearranged a couple pieces of furniture, and it's so much better now.

Good afternoon everyone,

I just went out to do some prep work on the pig pen for tomorrow. I have tomorrow and Tuesday off to finish off our pigport so it is ready for our sows to have babies. Since the last time I went out, the girls are starting to get visible udders, not just longer nipples now. Anyway, the two girls jump up and are very interested in EVERYTHING I'm doing. Puddles, the boar, barely twitched an ear. I went over, scratched him and poked at him. He didn't do more than make a few snorts and squealed a little when one of the girls stood on him to get pets. He didn't budge. I toed him with my boot and all he did was shift position a little. I was seriously worried about him. He looked a little thin the way he was laying down. So I went and got some food to see if that would get his attention. As I tossed the food bin in, he gave and almighty squeal and launched himself off the ground and was the first to the food bowl. Then I realized he found a sunbeam. *facepalm* The lazy boy faked me out.

Yes, bottom dwellers, tetras, and other scaleless fish should never have any significant exposure to salt or a full dose of any meds.

I LOVED my loaches. I would still have them if fish tanks weren't so much work and I wasn't worried about kids breaking them. Getting anything larger than a long 20 gal long wasn't feasible for me when I had them because I was a renter and moved every year or two. The 20s I had would have been a nightmare.
