Another thing I've noticed now too, since the kids had to do some of the cleaning, and know work is involved, and they like a clean home, they're doing better about KEEPING it clean.
What ever happened to kids having chores? Back in the day kids helped around the house and farms. :old I was doing most of the cooking and dishes by the time I was 10 and doing a lot of the grocery shopping at 12. Also watering the animals. We raised St Bernards and had 25 pens. Had horses that had to be watered when the creek froze or went dry for a couple weeks in summer.

Good morning everyone :frow Try to make your Monday a good one.
So far, not too terrible 🤣

Thats a lot. I didnt go shopping until i was an adult. I did cook and do laundry, but thats because i was hungry and wanted clean clothes 🤣
I tried and tried to get kiddo to do age appropriate chores. Nada. Get this, he told his counselor that I asked him to sweep and mop the kitchen, and bathroom if he had time. She got upset and started reminding me about “age appropriate”, etc., etc. I informed her we have a stick vacuum and a floormate mopping thing. All he had to do was turn them on and guide them. 🤦🏻‍♀️
He does do his laundry now and keeps his room pretty clean, but still wont help anywhere in the common areas.

:frow Good afternoon Fishy, hope your day has been good.

I didn't pipe in earlier but when I was 7 mom would leave instructions and a shopping list. Small fridge and shopped daily. I'd ride my bike to the store, buy the groceries and sign for them. Then come home and prepare dinner based on her instructions. Dad was a shift worker so timing was based upon when he was expected home. I could have never figured that out, but with her instructions, dinner was hot and ready when he got home. If I had questions it was a 15 mile bike ride to get answers.
