I'm back from the hospital. Not good news. I'll be going to my Oncologist on Wed. One ray of sunshine is that my Covid test came back negative.

Thank you for your prayers. I'm not out of the woods yet, so please continue to pray for me.
Continued prayers 🙏 :hugs

Couch update: 🙄🙄 someone doesn't listen to their messages very well. It’s not even close to being ready for pickup! Im glad I called before showing up there. Old couch hadn't moved far, so thats a plus.

The heat is beyond nuts, they're talking 104 one day next week.
Im going to get one of those portable power stations so i can get an actual big fan in there at night.
There are some old fat hens in there so iv'e got to do something.
Jerry's bunch are way smaller than Prince's bunch so they handle the heat way better.
Yeah he did the bare minimum, but nobody starved.
He's not good with animals so im ok with that much.
Did you see the new babies?
Yeah, even though life is a train wreck iv'e got babies.
I saw that babies, any ideas on what's up w/ Dobby? Maybe he's just a late bloomer.
New Balance. I went to the “outlet” mall thinking the prices would be better, but the Sketchers store was ridiculous. At least NB had a couple of good deals. They do come in other colors, but these suited me :gig
Ive interviewed at KFL before but never for the county library. I would love a library job. I do like my HD job because its so physical, but as a second job, im just too old LOL.

I totally agree! No one can tell a story quite like @Chickassan :lau:gig

A blonde raccoon? Weird! I know they exist but never seen one. Something is desperately trying to get into the run i think. I have 2x4 wire all around with chicken wire on the inside and it catches the rabbits’s waste. Well, somehow all of the bunny crap is now gone. Not a stinkin clue how that couldve happen as Ive tried to clean it and could not get it out.

What about taking them out? Is that feasible? I hate cleaning the fridge because somehow theres always hair in there. Now that kiddos hair is about as long as mine, its twice as bad. We shed like dogs i swear. His is past is shoulders by a good bit and mine is almost at the small of my back. Neither of us just went back for haircuts after covid. We always end up with terrible ones and dont see spending that kind of money.
I hate going to the mall for things. Too many people and everything is insanely expensive. BUT I also like to try on stuff b/c I have fat feet (that appear to be getting fatter) and short toes so things don't fit and I can't guess. I'll def check out new balance too. Thanks!
We're a part of a consortium, we share a catalog and books between us, but they do their own thing and we do ours (same for Reed). it's not a bad arrangement, but we things are different between locations. I'll try to remember to let you know when we have jobs listed again. With the new branch opening we'll def need people, but there's always some shifting internally. Most positions are 20 hours though.
sketchers ,d lite
Thanks! I'll check them out. I need to not have pain when walking and soon b/c it's getting old

Good morning!
I'm tired already, today was toenail day and I've still got to do a round two to nip spurs.
I did get Jerry's tips but there isn't much I can do with him in the morning due to his booty fever.
He acts like I'm going to cut his legs off despite the fact I've never drawn a drop of blood on him.
All the girls just let it happen, not him so much squirming and crying.
Boy has never felt discomfort period as far as I know, just such a big freaking baby lol .:)
I need to do that but I've misplaced my tiny nail clippers. William has a back toe that has a curled around nail that needs trimmed. His spurs are long too, but he needs them to feel manly.
I know right?
Never in my life had such issues getting a stupid prescription filled and I'm still not out of the woods because I'm supposed to have 60 so I'm short half.

The game is the Sims 4 Cottage living.
They added in a chicken festival so now there's an actual point to dressing up your chickens.
I was doing it anyway.:)
Gasp! I bought that for my daughter for xmas. She never mentioned chickens or dressing them up. Makes me suspect she hasn't even played it.
I wanted to write this in a separate post. I'm coming to the conclusion that it might not be the time for me to be working on my Cornish birds. I didn't do any hatching in 2019 or 2021 and I haven't done any yet this year. I'm really behind. All my birds are 3 years and older. Maybe I should get a few layers for the small amount of eggs we do eat and do CX for meat. I also don't have the time to care for them like I should. My FIL does most of the day to day care, but I can't be out there watching the birds and looking for issues with having to work and care for the kids. We aren't really getting any benefit from the birds and they are a financial drain. I want to get back into them someday, but I don't think I have the time or energy to even maintain a token flock. That isn't good enough to keep the birds in top meat production form. We have a lot of land that we aren't using and we are thinking about getting a meat cow (or cows) to start raising our own beef. A couple neighbors have bulls, so that won't be a problem. The chickens are WAY more work than I think the cows would be. We would mainly have to have a place to store hay and mind the fences.

I'm still really conflicted about all this.
If your neighbor has bulls I'd talk to them about anything you might be missing about raising cows. It's hard to keep the work/ life/ kids balance and it's perfectly ok to cut back where you can. You're really young still and can revisit the chicken farming life when your kids are a little older and you're done adding to your family. It's hard when you know you're not giving something the attention you used to, but your kids and work are things that you can't just let go, esp if you plan on home schooling. There's also nothing wrong w cutting back a bit to a few birds that supply your family w/ eggs and a learning experience for the kids. Given the cost of things lately even have 4 - 6 hens for eggs is probably more than enough. I have about that many laying right now and I'm still buried in eggs and my girls are 4&5 years old. Maybe pick out a handful of younger birds to keep for eggs and rehome the rest.
Ugh.. In OH they legalized fireworks and it's so annoying. The neighbor guy let of a big display of legit fireworks and the next day I got 0 eggs.
We decided to go first thing in the morning. Dd #1 cleared it with her boss this evening, and she's going to be my advocate. Dh is staying home, and taking care of the kids.
Oh no. I hope everything is ok and if it's not, that it gets better soon.

Kids... I can't even. The younger one (17 next month) has been pestering me for a nose piercing, said her step mom would take her. I caved and took her last night. It's cute, but I'm not a fan of facial piercings just b/c you expect a level of professionalism from people in certain fields and both my kids want to be professionals. The older one (19) has her septum pierced, but it can be hidden with the right jewelry. Tattoos.. piercings. smh.
The older one has 4 tattoos that she's gotten over the last 6 months. I keep telling her to pace herself b/c she shouldn't be making all of her mistakes all at once.. It's kind of funny b/c yesterday she said "I just realized that 2 of my tattoos are after 2 of our chickens". Olive - she has an olive branch tattoo; Clover - she has a 4 leaf clover... then I told her No, it's 3. Toothless - she got a shark tooth. I told her again she needs to stop. That child, got her belly button pierced yesterday. I told her it was another mistake, but it was very fun to watch her try to get into the back seat of the car in her high waisted jeans. I'd like to say I suppressed my I told you so, but I didn't.
Work, we're not going to discuss. I'm not going to say I have a count down clock for retirement, but I know how many years I have left. It's too many.
Chickens, Toothless is only 4, she seems to be having egg issues. She's laid maybe 1-2 eggs this year. Loki is the same. I have an egger that looks sad, she was laying, now she's molting, but her comb was light pink, not red. Not sure if there's anything wrong, or just b/c they're getting old. 4 & 5 years now.
Also trying to find cars for 2 kids.... it's insane right now. A local place in town has 2 cars, 2000 and 2004, both for 4895 and I'm like What? Those cars are older than the people who will be driving them and you want 5k? I was expecting maybe 2500 or 3k.. but 5k is wayyy overboard. i was looking at newer cars and I only found 1 and it was 12k. If I new everything was going to be like this I would have bought a car 3 years ago and let it sit.
