Also everyone, I have another great update!

We finally got Fergus and Downys day pen fully secured with hardware cloth.

Next step will be to wrap the ark in hardware cloth, and move it outside the pen to give Downy and Fergus more room inside their day pen!

And last step I want to do is a hardware cloth apron around the pen/ark.

Hopefully everyone can see the hardware cloth in the pictures, pretty okay.

That's awesome. you know living the way they did before ya'll took them in just takes time to understand certain things. And they are learning fast.

Yes, Downy and Fergus are very smart.
When we come out at night to lock them up, they will already be in their ark by the time we unlock their pen.

Also I had a question about the ducklings, when can we let the ducklings have their first swim?

We were thinking next Saturday (they will be about three weeks) or the 30th of March, about two weeks away.

Is that too soon for their first swim?

Also a update about Mini (the tiny duckling)
Minis eye looks perfect, no more crust eye.

Mini also has been growing at a good rate, not as big as the other ducklings but definitely getting bigger.

That’s great news about Mini. Those babies can swim now start with nice warm water just up to the tops of their legs they will have a blast and start preening which will help get them water proofed eventually after a few days give them enough water they can have dive and float in just stay with them and be sure to pat dry and put them right back under the heat to finish drying. And you better take pics so we can see! I think in their own little minds Downy and Fergus are very happy to have such a great home of their own:love

Of course pictures will be taken! And we'll definitely keep a good eye durning swim time, I heard young duckling can tire themselves out quickly.

I hope Downy and Fergus love it here.
In the morning when we are filling up their pool and food ect, we will hear them knock (with their bills) from the inside of their ark door. They are so excited to come out for the day, and enjoy the pool.
We have even left the gate open while we let them out of the ark, they always go straight for the pool inside of escaping. I honestly think they have forgotten all about the pond across from them.
