Thank you for the heads up, the second has now hatched so I’ll leave the remaining 7 to do their thingThe lower temps can cause later hatches so give the other eggs a few more days

Thank you! The 2nd chick has now hatched - just 7 more to go (I doubt they’ll all hatch but we’ll see how it goes)Yay! So glad the chick made it! Now that chick #1 is out, it should encourage/help the hatching of others. Don't worry about the eggs being kicked around (that freaks some people out), they will be fine![]()
Aw thank you!! The 2nd chick has now hatched!! 7 more to go, hopefully they’ll make it but we’ll have to wait and seeOh, this is a nail biter!!! Come on chickies!!!!!!
Thanks for the update and I look forward to more good news when you can![]()
I’m really glad you told me this, thanks so much. I couldn’t find anyone else with humidity that high and I was very worried. I’m so glad you had a successful hatch! The 2nd chick has just hatched so things are looking up. I have 7 left that are still showing no signs of hatching but we’ll see what happens tonight and tomorrowI had a hatch 4 weeks ago after very high humidity all through the incubation. My incubator has 2 internal water compartments and a single exterior refill reservoir. I accidentally filled both of the water sections and didn't discover it until I went to fill the second one for the lockdown.
My chicks hatched on day 18.
The first one pipped and then went back to sleep for another 24 hours. I was worried but when she was ready she finished the job. Of 7 eggs I got 5 healthy chicks.
I think you're going to be OK. Just hold tight and let them do the job.
I have no idea which egg is bad and 3 eggs are currently pipping... I’m not sure how I’d identify this when the incubator can’t be opened for long None were rotten on day 18 so I have no idea which one it will be.One of the other eggs is bad and may explode, you'll need to get it out.
On day 18, we only had to remove one egg, the remaining 9 were all alive so there definitely weren’t any rotten ones there. There’s no weeping eggs, just a smell. As far as the humidity, I do question the reading but I noticed the condensation has completely gone. If I put a few towels around the incubator and over my head, opened the incubator a tiny amount and added some hot water do you think this would be okay (with 2 hatched and 3 pipping)? I’m sorry for all the questions I’m so new to this. It’s Day 23 and there’s 3 chicks pipping but nothing happening. The eggs do emit an odor when they've hatched, but I wouldn't say it is rotten, though I could see it being considered that way. If you can see the eggs clearly, make sure none look weepy. If you candled on day 18 and they were all fine, I wouldn't think any should be rotten enough by now to explode. As far as the humidity, if you haven't opened the lid, I cannot imagine why the humidity would go down, so I question that reading. Humidity tends to go up with hatching. However, you certainly do want high enough humidity to avoid shrink-wrapping. If you think the humidity really is low, do you think you could open the incubator just a crack and toss in a piece of dampened sponge?
