Please help!!!

Spiderduck, did the vet give you other options or discuss what else might happen?

@casportpony

She said she could do surgery. Which is £600.
Could refer me to a specialist vet that deals with chickens but its a car journey away. A bit far.
Or put the chick to sleep becausr he may be in pain.
I took him home. He wont eat or drink so i dipped his beak in water and fed him some food.
I might feed him weetabix warm to help
He ate that as a baby. Im trying other vets but why on earth is it soooo expensive. Maybe if i cry enough do you think theyd do it.

I think my baby chick he is about 2 months old
He might have ate a pin of the floor. Its like those pins that are straight and could be swallow them??

Its about 2cm long maybe 1cm i dont know
Please what can i do
It looked like a pin but i am unsure.

I put him in his cage as he is being raised on his own by me.
What can i do!!?!?!?!??!
If you are not sure you need to watch him closely. Observe his eating and drinking habits. If he is not showing signs of distress chances are he will be alright. Not much else you can do.

Like 10 mins ago. Thats why i am on here. I am panicking. I left him in his cage not touching him.. i dont even know if he is in pain

Lets say there he did eat the pin. Would it puncuture something in him.

The craw first, should it make it past that, the intestines. But, I would bet on craw first.

He has eaten a pin. Did xray. Surgery far too expensive here. Its in his stomach so not his crop which would have been easier to take out.
He is quiet and not want to eat or drink. Usually he is plump.

The craw?!??! Is it important??

But could it actually travel out of him

Chickens don't have teeth. So that is where their food they injest goes first. That is where the grit they used to grind up their feed. Everything goes there first before digestion can begin.

My chickens have eaten some weird things in the past. I know your worried and you have the right to be, but he still may pass the pin. I guess you have a decision to make: either pay the money for the surgery or wait and see if he gets this passed. Don't feel guilty if you don't get the surgery and have a bad outcome! I would not be able to pay for that surgery for a chicken. IM sorry.
