Please help!!!

My chickens have eaten some weird things in the past. I know your worried and you have the right to be, but he still may pass the pin. I guess you have a decision to make: either pay the money for the surgery or wait and see if he gets this passed. Don't feel guilty if you don't get the surgery and have a bad outcome! I would not be able to pay for that surgery for a chicken. IM sorry.
Thank you so much.
So you think it might have a chance of passing through!??!

I will keep feeding and looking after him.
I could do surgery if it was cheaper under £200.
Do you think the pin about 1can long could pass out through the intestines.

Totally agree with this.

She said she could do surgery. Which is £600.
Could refer me to a specialist vet that deals with chickens but its a car journey away. A bit far.
Or put the chick to sleep becausr he may be in pain.
I took him home. He wont eat or drink so i dipped his beak in water and fed him some food.
I might feed him weetabix warm to help
He ate that as a baby. Im trying other vets but why on earth is it soooo expensive. Maybe if i cry enough do you think theyd do it.

Not to be cruel or insensitive. But for 600 you could have a really large flock.

I believe it has a good possibility of passing.

Now I'm wondering if more water or less water in the chicks system would be better?? Runny poo or cake-like poo? I'm thinking drier might be better.

What did the vet say???
It seems that she did perform an xray and saw the pin stuck in the gizzard. She thinks he may be in pain. Your chick is not eating/drinking.

It's very hard to know, but if the pin is stuck in the gizzard, then the chick won't be able to process foods properly. If he is in pain, then it may be kinder to put him down than to watch him starve to death.

Just my thoughts.

The pin is in his gizzard.

He is calm and sitting quietly with me
