On this note, any thoughts on how long hands are good for? I have strawberry, blackberry, blueberry and green grape jams from 2 or 3 years ago. I was questioning if I can keep eating them or if I should dump and repurposed the jars - would hate to waste all that jam though as there's a few gallons worth.
As long as it is put up right, eat it.
I am enjoying 10+ year old jalapeno jelly on a bagel right now.

two years is my limit on jam.....

Last of the cushaw is in the dehydrator. I still can't find the blender, so I'll, ugh, buy a new one and get everything powdered down and sealed.

Heading for 70 today after spending two days with highs below freezing. House is open and oven is cleaning. Chickens are having a rare mid-November free-range day.

Yea, still not getting notices for this thread.

I personally wouldn't eat jam older than 2 years also. But I am immunocompromised & take chemo so things scare me a little more than they used to. Don't even get me started on my fear of botulism & improper canning methods! :lau I had friends over to can a while ago & I had to yell at them because they weren't paying attention to what they were doing & guessing on timers & ingredients & things. They had a few drinks in them & I take my canning very seriously. They think I'm such a dork. 🤭 I knew it was going to go down like that so I did my canning a week later by myself, lol.

I need to clean my oven too. I've been making weed cream (we don't eat it or smoke it or anything, even tho it's legal, neither of us like to get high) but the cream really helps with the joint pains (we are soooo old). So I decarbed the weed in the oven & now every time I turn it on the house smells just awful! I keep forgetting till I go to cook dinner. Seems I need to cover the pan next time I decarb.

Sheesh, I've been nervous to mention that in public. :gig Please don't judge me, lol. The cream has literally save DH from having to have complete knee & ankle replacements. It's a godsend.

That drives me insane! I can't find my tuna/can strainer. I only ever use it for tuna - we eat it once a week a two, it gets washed & goes back into the same drawer. I, & then DH (because I blamed him :gig) tore the house apart & we still can't find it. Argh! Does this stuff just walk off?

Here's a thought... Take the drawer out and look behind it and in the drawers below. We have "lost" things only to find them stuck behind where the end of the drawer would be. The counter where the drawers are is deeper than the drawers themselves, so as things slide around, they can make their way back there and catch on the drawer above, or get pushed out as we paw through, looking for something.
