Rooster Losing Balance

His comb is pale, he's doing something odd with his neck, and he is breathing through his mouth. If you have tried giving vitamins, and he's getting worse, I think you need to start thinking about his quality of life. :hugs

Aww poor dude he's having a really hard time
Yeah. I am thinking I might have to euthanize him soon. :(

I would just like to know a definite diagnosis, so I could be sure that there's no way to treat him. But it looks like he probably has Marek's, which is incurable. :(

Yeah I'm kind of thinking the same thing. It's hard to diagnose with out necropsy cause there are multiple kinds.

Sorry that he is worse. Have a look at post 1 in this thread for details about testing:

You may want to just put him down and get a necropsy through your state poultry vet though. It may tell you a lot more, and if you explain that it is a backyard chicken, the cost may be less. Here is a link for your state vets in the US:

If he is panting, are his nostrils/nares blocked?
No, they aren't blocked.

Thank you.

I've had two roosters get whatever this guy has... They were both related, so I kinda assumed it had to do with crappy hatchery genes, but then two others got it at completely different times. I still don't know what it was.
If you do end up putting him down, would you be able to have a necropsy done? I'm really curious about what causes this.

Cheeto died. I'm planning to send him to a lab for necropsy. R.I.P. my beautiful boy. :(
