Should I turn my bottom pipper?

oh good. Sorry, i was outside selling chickens.

Chewing/yawning is a sign of still absorbing yolk, so as long as the membrane doesn't look like its drying out, I'd say give a bit more time.

If the membrane ever appears to be sticking to feathers, then movement would be limited. If it's staying moist, then the ling still has moving room. Just the slightest movement they make will keep things lubed up.

It's drying from the middle out, so yellow and dark in the middle (which is now her flap), yellowing further out and still white round the very edges so I think she'll be okay, it's not stuck to her or anything. She does push out of the he every so often, I wonder if this is an instinctive thing to keep the hole open and lubed like you say for when she's ready to start turning.

Are there any new warning signs I need to keep an eye out for when she starts (hopefully) turning it just the same as before?

Usually ducks will punch the shell in a couple spots, nearby the original hole, but a bit away from it. Some do this 2, 3, even 4 times. I think they are testing the shell and their strength :D
Then they usually will zip after that. So that's what Id be watching for now, in addition to the membrane monitoring, and any distress.

The dry membrane for one thing. And something like a wing or foot out the hole, etc. Any goo oozing from the hole (since it's in the tip, sometimes there is fluid there).
You can see the bill now, correct? If the positioning looks much different, without any the extra punches I mentioned, it could be trying to turn and got stuck.

These things won't likely happen, but could be things to watch for.

Thank you, I think when I read 'distress' I imagine it freaking out in the shell and making some sort of distress peep that I wont know how to distinguish from a normal peep having never heard one before :lau

Look at who I woke up to this morning! I must say it was quite confusing in my still-sleepy state when I was looking for an egg rather than a 3rd duckling!
