I am happy for you Heather! It's hard parting with the boys as I well know.So I found a place in CT that sells bantam pullets, because I was thinking that even with the rooster gone I still want a pullet bantam and I ended up calling the nicest woman ever, and lo and behold, they have a Rooster flock of just boys! She and her husband love roos and keep them as a sanctuary thing. So I get to leave Chipmunk on a real farm, and come home with one or two pullet bantams instead! Joy.
Here's a link to the place if anyone else is interested: http://www.clarkfarmbusiness.com/Chickens-for-sale.html
Don't be surprised that a bantam hen doesn't take over the flock by force eventually. They are small but mighty in my experience. It's the napoleon thing.
