Speckled Sussex Thread

We've had our guesses on this beautiful 19 week old SS. No crowing yet, but I'm pretty sure she is more likely a he. Those saddle and tail feathers are just too male looking.

Really sucks because I really really like her/him, but we can't have roosters. We were supposed to get 2 SS chicks back in October, but the Feed Store clerk gave us the wrong ones (we didn't get to pick them this time due to Covid) and we only ended up with 1 SS.

Also does anyone want to see pictures of Kiwi or her other chickie friends? I am taking daily pictures of their sides and on Fridays i am taking pictures of their wings, belly, sides, and backs. The other chicks are 2 BJGs, 1 NHR, 1 BO, and 1 Welsummer. The first 3 turned 3 weeks on Friday and the last 3 turned a week on Friday. I'm counting the day we got them as day 0 and we got them when they were around a day old from our local feed store. I think Emo is a Roo though because he hasn't jumped out of the box yet but Missy and Honey have, his comb is already growing, and he is bigger than Missy. Here are pictures from last night, so they all look tired.

Thank you my family each named their own and Kiwi is mine. I convinced my dad to name the BO Nugget. All except my brother who wants to name the NHR Ice Cream Sundae, I think Honey is a much better name.
