Staggered hatching Hatch-A-Long

I got my first 8 eggs of this year today. They’re very nice blue colored cream legbar eggs and I’m so excited about setting them tomorrow!

for now i’ve ordered araucana eggs for next week and olive eggers the week after that.

one problem, i’ve discovered I have rats in the coop so I ordered this very strong ultrasonic anti-rat device today, it should arrive tomorrow. I hope they will go away with this thing. I don’t want them eating my chicks!

I just got a terrarium sooo cheap to raise the chicks in that are 2/3 weeks old. Now I just have to find a place to put it and go get it... it’s huge!
I think I will put it next to the coop on the opposite side of the run, then I will make an extra run at that side, so they can go from the terrarium to underneath the terrarium with a heat plate when they’re 4 weeks old and then move to the other run when they are 6 weeks old. From there they can self-integrate into the adult flock with panic doors.

The thing has climate control, heated bottom and heat lamps, it’s insulated and has double glass doors! I am going to have a blast with it!
PS: off course there will be no more snakes in it!

Up to 6 in the brooder all doing well and getting along well together even though they hatched on different days. The last one is still a little unsteady but wanted her in the brooder so the eggs in the incubator could hatch without me opening the bator lol. It amazes me how quick they grow. The first three hatched out on Sunday the last one today around 2 am.

We go back into lock down on the 26th at 8pm. Three more eggs in the hatcher and 18 more in the incubator to go in on the 2nd once the others are done hatching. My first three staggered hatch sets of babies are in the brooder doing well and being cute

Chick number 10 the backwards pipper is out of the egg around 8am this morning.

Last egg just zipped and hatched babies looking good.
