Six of the Sultans have hatched. After a fair amount of thought though, I won't be keeping them. I never had intent to breed them, I just wanted a couple as eye candy. I fell like it's a huge disservice to have a critically endangered breed and have no intent of increasing that breeds numbers. So I'm gifting them to a friend who will breed them and really appreciate them too. Maybe after they get a decent flock established I'll grab a couple back from here. For now though I feel like those chicks have a higher purpose than to please my addiction.

Not bad a all Chris! 60-70 during the day. Then bottom drops out over the weekend back into low 30’s for low. Typical for this time of year!

It's been warmer than that here, but in general had been very beautiful this week. I've been spending as much time outside as I can recently.

I gave one of the broodies a chick last night. Turns out the eggs she's sitting on are not fertile, and I really didn't want to start her process over. Poor girl is unbreakable. I was happy to sew it under her wing this morning. Don't mind the stuff in her "nesting" tool bin. I tried changing her box and everytime she'd fly right back to the tool bin and leave her eggs... So she's also hatching some water line fittings for us.

Yesterday my ducklings were sweet and snuggly. Today I'm an axe murderer. All I did was move them on to the screen porch last evening. They were in my kitchen
