I was thinking that. But theres a guy that brings them in from out of state to race. It's still here this morning. How does one catch a pigeon to set free? I am worried about the cats ganging up on it

He might be a lost racer.

Try to catch him. You might need a net if he's not very friendly. Then feed and water him, and read his bands. You will probably be able to read the bands and use that info to find his owner, who you can then contact and see if they want you to just feed and water him for a day and then release him, or if they want to come pick him up, etc.
 
He's up in a tree currently (I scared him with net) But I am keeping an eye on him re cats (I think I locked them up well but you never know) and if he hops down. Have put some water out for him incase thats all he's looking for, I figured he probably landed here because he could smell the creek.

Shotgun will get him out of the tree fast.
