The barred one is the culprit. It did full neck flare of the hamburger but I didn't get it 8n a picture. View attachment 2585823 I went off spot on head as a chick to call it a pullet. But I'm not sure now. It's 20weeks old. View attachment 2585830
I think that the barred one is a bad tempered hen.

I tried to zoom in on the saddle feathers to see if they are round or pointed at the tip,

I could not see them well.

but everything about her says mean old witch...

:frow Good afternoon Ralphie, have a great day

She's beautiful to look at, but that personality... the saddle feathers are round and the only feathers that are roostery are the couple of long streamer feathers on her tail but the ends are round. I did a search through the forums yesterday and it looks like there's a few fiesty barred rock hens out there.
I am thinking she is not completely barred rock.

Her coloring looks more cockoo than barred, that could account for the longer tail feathers, but they really aren’t that long.

I see what your saying about colouring, but any breed with the word maran in it is a very rare find over here, and breeder has plymouths that are all quite similar. Not many people breed to breed colour standards it would seem (the white guy strutting his stuff in the pic is ment to be a spangled hamburg)

Picked up the red Bourbon turkey hen yesterday. She seems in good health, no signs of lice or mites. The owners had raised her from a baby and I very specifically asked about respiratory diseases before I bought her.

They lived right next to a very busy road and even though they have land the turkeys could safely free range on, when they let them out they instead took a walk down to the Dollar General to meet some people, lol. So they decided that they didn't live in the best place to keep them.

I'm calling her Cinnamon. She's very friendly.
