We got an O Shamo! It hatched overnight. It also came from the egg I thought was a Tomaru... Hopefully its 2 O Shamo instead. Oh yeah, the 2nd egg is extremely pipped!

So it looks like the Tomaru chick could have cataracts. I'l see if it can find it's food tomorrow, and go from there on what to do.

I am no longer getting the Blue Birchen Maran cockerel.
The ladies of his flock have decided they like hims so he is going to stay with them. I did however get an offer just as awesome! Twice as awesome depending on how you look at it.
I'll be taking a small road trip to go pick up 2 Dampierre cockerels from the same person. I won't be able to make OEs with them, and only 1 is going to be able to stay, but It's still a rare and unique breed to have around. Plus the hens of this breed are crested. It would be kind of neat to have some NN with mottled patterns, white ear lobes, 3rd waddle, and little crests. One can imagine right?

Welcome back. Okay well Chris and family missed the hurricane thank the Lord, Huffie showed awesome pics of her chickens, I showed some pics of my sweet ones. Chris has chicks hatching as of 2 days ago. And Quackiemama just got back from Aruba. Elly also showed some really cute pics too. I am sure I missed something but others can filled in the blanks.

Hasn't been the same without you starting our day.

Things in general are doing pretty decent.
I think Patti pretty much summed it up. I'm getting another chance at raising an O Shamo chick! It also looks like I'll be raising a blind chick. I'm not really sure how I feel about that just yet, but I do think I could at least give it the best fighting chance I can.

I'm looking forward to seeing you around here again.
