If it's deaf that should be too much of a problem they adapt. My Muscovy female is blind in one eye and she has adapted great.

I've had a deaf duck before. They are not a problem other than being loud and sometimes get lost from the flock. I think she will be fine. There are much worse problems to have. She's very sweet.

Possibly moving again to a house that fits us. Can have chookies. In town here you may have one rooster. But I want dux

Depends on the kind of Dux: Muscovies are very quiet, whereas some Mallard derived dux can be much louder than a rooster. Just ask Tweedledee or my sick Runner. When i pick up the Runner, the neighbors' windows shatter and i am deaf for two hours…

I showed the pictures to Mr Leroy Brown and his first reaction was »It wasn't me!!!«
In the second picture, the duxling to the right has the same crest as Leroy…

Fortunately Pompom Duck hasn't gone broody! - Her sister Pinball (no crest) on the other hand already shows the tell-tale signs of going in again...

It’s so windy
Ducks almost got blown away

I tried to feed the dux some cat-food at the pond and had the wind in the back…
You can call it swim-training…
A gust from behind and everybody had to swim to the far end. No Gust and they had to swim back to the near end.

I'm not sure about Pompom Dux vision. I threw the cat-food all around her and she didn't picked up a single piece. But she sees enough to avoid being picked up by me.
