I think his hand is plenty large enough. I know *I* wouldn't be able to fit four ducklings under mine!
The large gray/yellow duckling disagrees: The other three were snoring under my hand and it tried to sneak in but wouldn't fit anymore on Saturday morning. In the end i ended up with three ducklings under and one sleeping on top of my hand. - And a slow cooked left hand which smelled like BBQ. Sleeping ducklings are smokin' hot chicks! :gig

Happy Monday to Everybody!

My Laptop is still the ducklings favorite place, after my left hand, which is shrinking at an accelerating rate… - I guess that's because my laptop is running hot and a lot of warm air is expelled through the keyboard; ducklings love warmth from below.

They are using each other as pillows:

And take baths in the drinking water even before their navels have closed completely...

@Pyxis - I just watched my favorite weather man, Ryan Hall Y'all, and saw that there is a high risk for Excessive Rainfall and Flash Flooding issued for almost the whole state of Vermont! - Hope you're doing okay?

Thanks for thinking of me! It is indeed raining cats and dogs here. And today was my NPIP testing; lovely weather for it. I am still damp, ugh.

So far no flooding in my area, and I hope it stays that way!

How did the NPIP testing worked out?

All good! Chickens and quail all passed, turkeys will too I'm sure but they have to send those out. We tried to test an emu but they are starting to get a bit squirrelly for breeding season so they weren't having it and I wasn't going to try to grab Ciara if she didn't want to stand for me.

Meanwhile in Weston and and Ludlow:

Today is the 15h anniversary of a severe storm that wiped out the old orchard at our freshly purchased property, set several house roofs to flying, shattered windows and generally wreaked havoc in our parts.

At 4 AM there was an anniversary party. Here's a link t a good report. You just need the pics to get the general idea.

The ducks are fine. Their house was bombarded by huge willows dropping their branches. They were not perturbed and delivered the regular 3 eggs in the morning.

The bees are, amazingly, OK while 2 fully grown Paulownia trees directly above them were stripped to toothpicks.
