Yours? gorgeous

Just went to fetch him today.

There were two Khaki drakes - the other one was somewhat smaller, sitting apart from the little group and had a pronounced "something" around his eye, so the choice was obvious. But I think he's a fine specimen on his own merits, not just compared to the other one.

He's spending the night alone in this actually too small crate (that's a big drake...) since I did not want to put him in the duck house directly before the ducks came in to sleep. They will have all day tomorrow to get acquainted and we'll see what's what by the end of the day.

Judging by the number of times we've been seeing ducks in a sexy mood lately I think they'll go along just fine...

Do you have a lot of girlfriends for him? Any other drakes? Spring will tell how mine will work out, I can hardly wait. lol

Fox got into the smaller chicken coop. Lost six chickens, including my OEGB. Some may have escaped, but I can't see or hear them anywhere. Only looks (from the feathers and blood) that one was killed. No idea if they will return, and our mild weather ends tonight.

It couldn't get into the duck coop, but now I'm worried for them even more during the day.
Sorry to hear this. 😭 - I hope not all of them were eaten and that they come back home.

My peafowl were accidently poisioned 😔confirmed yesterday. There's no way my other birds can access the poision, this happened because there was no way to keep peafowl in permently and they enjoyed their daily trip to farm workshop to get the barley. Unfortunately the boss put out a high dose mouse poison treated wheat for the mice and the birds ate it. We won't get into how this product is ment to be put out in bait stations to stop birds and larger animals from accessing it
Bad news in a row! - Sorry to hear you peafowl!
But their fate saved me from likely making the same mistake: I have a mouse problem in my garage due to the bags of duck-feed that i have stored there. They bite through the bags, spill the grains and multiply like - mice.
So i was about to order some poisoned grain to fight back when i read your post. I was literally one mouse-click away from the »Buy Now« button. I am sure at least one of the poisoned mice would have found a way to be eaten by the dux and it would have ended in tears… Than you for warning me!
