I see a duck on a pond on my bus route all of the time and most of the pond is frozen except for the middle of it and that is where it goes. Someone wanted me to try to rescue it but it is on private property and seems to be just fine anyways. I don't know how to walk on water and it is not totally frozen so good luck with that thought anyways. lol

One shower after the other here in West Virginia has turned my hillside into a slip'n'slide where even the ducks - even the mallards(!) are slipping and landing on their feathered butts. I'm too scared to walk up to the pond, but i assume it is just short of overflowing…

Yes and we will get another half inch to an inch of rain tomorrow so it will be even more muddier where I am. Be careful out there Frank. This is better than snow though as I am not having to shovel it. lol

To anyone that is wondering about Miss Lydia, she is still doing fine, just very unhappy about no internet and does not know when she will ever get it back again. She was at her local Taco bell today online but could not connect to BYC which had her frustrated I am sure. She says Hi to everyone and misses you all.

Is it a Mallard or a domestic duck? - Mallards are just fine, they can fly away, but a domestic duck needs help...

It looks like a female Mallard but it is not there all of the time, it comes and goes. It seems to be large for a Mallard but since it can come and go I am sure it must be fine.

Just asking for my friend Tigger: »Who turned the light off?« - We are stuck in a ground level cloud the whole day, its so depressing that even the ducks started to go inside their house voluntarily!

The fog was so thick here that it made it hard to see to drive to work and then do the bus too. We all did well though so we were blessed. We got a lot of rain this afternoon and will get more this week. The ducks were happy about that. Tonight when I went out to put them in their locked pen they were all taking a bath and enjoying their water. It's nice to have the bath water not frozen right now.
