Your getting Cochin bantams from WV oh my gosh I love my Cochins I got from her. My one little hen and rooster I can pick up and snuggle with. They are gorgeous.
Yes miss I am! They should be hatching this weekend! :ya
I really hope to get a blue or mottled hen.
@WVduckchick isn't there a chance for frizzle in the Cochins, or was that you'r Serama?
Because a blue frizzle would be freaking awesome!

There was 6 in total.
Interesting.

I am worried about the genetics on CLB.

In my case they all came from 3 birds.

One cock and 2 hens. I am also curious because I know there is a good chance yours come from mine....
I sold to someone Wvducxhix got hers from..or some of hers.

I am worried because of the limited gene pool. I did hatch a fair number of whites though and they came from the same three birds.

If I was not downsizing my flock to near zero, I would search for unrelated birds somewhere. If they can be found.

I dunno!
1 didn't develop from the start. I removed 4 yesterday, 3 looked to have blood rings, and 1 was hard to see vein/ring detail in, but it lit up pretty bright. The remaining egg looks very healthy though with plenty of movement. I am hoping for a female, but if it's a feller, he'll serve a greater purpose.

As of right now supper is going to be known as a greater purpose.

I had a hen on several (10-12?) and she hatched a pair. I've had decent incubator hatches though, so I'm not sure what happened to hers. She had her own nest box, but I think she let other girls lay in it too.

Yes, Frizzle cochin. I do not have, nor like, the frizzled serama.
I have 2 splash frizzle hens and 2 blue frizzle hens, but I think you only got one egg from the pen with the blues (C2). The splashes should have been laying, so there's a good possibility of a blue frizzle. I have yet to hatch a female frizzle this year. The few frizzles that have hatched have been male.

My rooster and 1 hen came from Aurora, but my other hens are from GFF. My cockerel in that pen is growing up nicely, I might just kick his daddy out.

I'm definitely getting rid of 2 cockerels this weekend. I caught one trying to mount a call duck, so they will either go to new homes, or hubby and I will have individual skinny chicken dinners. Although, these boys are plenty fat for my dinner.

Aurora got some from me.. GFF did not. I think Aurora might have gotten some elsewhere too, I am not sure.

I spent my first few years with them working on getting the brightest blue eggs I could, the body type suffered so I switched back to breeding for proposed SOP.

If I was not older than the hills I would buy more breeding stock. But alas I need to start ridding myself if birds.
