The duck lady is correct!!!

Soften that bugger up a lot!! I use epsom salt and dawn dish soap.. and lots of warm/hot water..

when you get the scan off you should see a “green” ugly pussy core...

I agree, pull it if you can. Maybe soak after you get the scab off then pull..

Cutting works but you (me/I) always seem to miss soMe when I cut.
Usually after a couple days when bandage needs changed I look for more pus. Thankfully I haven’t had to go back in much but in water fowl the pus Is yellow and thick like cottage cheese. Also no swimming one scab is off till hole is healed!

Alright, do you suspect he had it when I got him, since it's so bad already? I looked it up since I thought it was bumble, and it didn't look like a scab I've seen for bumble foot :barnie I couldn't find anything but it got worse so I'd figure i'd post it here... that was unexpected :th Will his leg heal? Can this kill him?

If left untreated it can go to bone and blood stream. Staff is very serious. But If you treat and get the infection out of there he can recover. He may have already had this when you got him. Soak his foot good in warm Epsom salt water and then get a few more close ups. If you soak in ES water [warm] do it in something where he can't drink the water. I stand mine in a bucket and hold on to them. Make the ES water strong too go by directions on the container.

I am going away for a while this morning but there are others here who have treated so they can answer your questions too.

Chris, I love your stock recipe, similar but different from mine and as for the booze vapors, that will happen with crock pot. I'm contemplating my bourbon meatballs and cranberry sauce.

@Duck_life I agree with @Miss Lydia That's a serious bumble. And it will likely take time for the plug to loosen.
Good morning, Bob! That sounds like a fantastic dish. Unique to me to say the least.

I've cooked with booze before, but I guess it was always in an open pot. I never really considered it blasting me in the face. I've read where people will do the towel over a pot of booze like you would for your sinuses. I never really put much thought in it, but it did knock me off kilter for short 10 minutes. I couldn't imagine actually trying to do that. That's what a rocks glass is for lol. ;)

I couldn't agree with you more... When I was in the magic kingdom, I made my own... The chemical reaction from cutting it would always off gas. If you didn't have solid ventilation, you'd be loaded without taking a drop.
