Well I've got a good news bad news situ'macation. Bad new is something snagged the Cream Legbar. It was taken in the early morning, and the entire caucus was gone.

My breed consolidation plan includes the CLB to make OE's. So I needed another blue egg layer, or 2. The only CLB I could find was sold yesterday just before I got to the farm.

So I ended up with 2 Araucanas, I couldn't pass it up. With the lack of a rump, they almost look like they have an upright posture. They didn't have any colors I wanted, but they are legit pure Araucana, and that cool enough for me.

Thanks Patti. It happened a couple of days ago, I just didn't bring it up. I still dont like the answers like "it just happens" but darn it, sometimes it just happens.

I did have specific plans to make OEs though, and given the opportunity to have another rare breed, ya know... I lost 1 EE and 1 CLB, so now I have 2 more colored egg layers.

I almost had Umbra rehomed today, but it didn't work out. I've got a few other people I'm going to try and gift him to before trying to sell him.

I am not campaigning hard at this time, just trying to get enough donations to survive the next year...

I do not live in the VWN....

and secondly, coming home from church I saw a dux in the river. I am going to have to go down there and get it!!!
