Do they have to wear little knit caps up in the far north to keep those combs protected.

Actually I switched out the single combs on the first few generations for this comb just for that reason.

I got tired of losing combs and having maimed birds. These hold up real well in the cold.
 
Top of the morning folks!
Buoy am I running behind today. I slept in till about 7:30 and got a solid 9 hours of sleep. That's easily 2 days worth for me. I feel like someone knocked me over the bogen with some sleep dust. I'm ready for a nap already.
 
The youngsters are doing good this morning. I always get a bit intimidated moving birds to new structures. Nor sure why, but I end up checking on them more than others.
