Made a kind of strange pork chop marinade today. Oktoberfest beer, orange marmalade, tumeric, salt, pepper, garlic, chilli flakes. Hopefully it tastes as good as it smells.

That one is Ursula a frizzle feathered Silkie. She likes to run from me, so I had to get an around the corner picture. Your can never see them, but she's got feathered feet and 5 toes.

She's actually a Cornish Rock aka a meat bird. I'm hoping she is able to stick around. She's not all that food crazy like most broilers, and she is large but she's pretty well proportioned. She's like a puppy and just loves human attention. I hope she doesn't outgrow her legs or organs. I've fallen in love with the lady. She lives with the bantams though. She doesn't have the "gumption" to survive the large fowl flock.

Its always the most random critter that finds a place in your heart isn't it?

Thought I'd try get some pics of Odd Ball, my double crested runner today, ha! So heres some awful photos of ducks, and a random RIW named Rhonda.

Not yet, but they are only just coming of age. As soon as the pekin boys started to get rowdy, I seperated him and the runner hen for his safety. So far he has zero interest in females that I've seen.

That's good when they have large crests like that they can have neurological problems. My youngest Runner drake 7 months now has only been mating with his girls for about a month.
