Look at that beautiful example of a fungal mycelium forming. The individual strands are known as fungal hyphae (Greek for web), and the collection of them forms the mycelium. The mycelium is known as the vegetative portion of fungi. Sometimes you might notice if there's a clump of mushrooms growing, underneath it there's a large pad that's the same consistency as a mushroom. That is an advanced stage of the mycelium. I hope you all enjoyed the lesson for the day. And always remember, it's better to be a fungi than a not fun guy.
