Speaking of grown, check out the size of the Anconas next to the Runners. I can't even begin to describe how happy I am they get along so well. They act like one big happy family of quacks.

Violet has done a complete turn around in regards to confidence too. She no longer is waiting in line to eat, or gets shoved out of the way, she's just part of the team now.

When I was a boy, I'd see playing the spoons at family gathering and so on. I always thought it was pretty neat. If I could play them like Abby below here though, it's all you'd hear in my house. That is till Xaiden grabs a sauce pot and a few rubber bands.

Lol it feels like it at times. The Ancona are still only about 1/3 the size of the Pekins though. The larger of the 2 drakes neck is a bit thicker than my wrist, and that's not including the feather fluff.

So some things I've noticed and/or been thinking about....

The Ancona are starting to get color variations in their bills. Some spots, some mottled, all of them unique to each other.

I think Pip is actually a drake, but I'm still not really sure. Pip is the only one who gets quite when I pick them up, and when they are making noise it sounds like a broken cheep. Not quite that gusty/raspy or '76 Cadillac honk honk the others are making now. (they sure are loud these ladies, even at a young age.) I know I'm going to need to sell a couple of the Anconas as it was just to expensive to get all sexed ducks, but Terry is king of the cool quacks. I've read the Ancona are not as bad regarding aggression from 1 drake to another, but I still don't want to push it. It would be really nice to keep both Pip and Terry as they are my favorite of all the Anconas. Oh! I'm not sure if I mentioned it here, but they are bonded, and by each other ALL the time. I didn't notice it till I was going through a bunch of pics, but if one was there, so was the other. I see it all the time now.

Violets wing feather seem to be staying in the quill (educate me if that's wrong please) for a very long time. The feathers have came in just fine, and nothing seem to be bothering her, but the lower portions of the feathers just wont shed the material (quill?) binding them together. I sure do love talking with her. Vocally she is Queen Quackers! Shes not the most chatty, but when she talks you can hear her regardless of whats going on. She's so sleek, and loves to play in the water hose. I love it, keeps us both busy.

You sure you want them along with your Bantam chickens or will you have them separated? They are really cool looking birds though.

Yeah they're growing, but something I didn't think about was how her carriage is a different angle than the Anconas I've been comparing her to. I checked on a few of the Anconas wings, and they look the same, but their wing are more tucked in to the body, and I just didn't notice it as well. Plus it stands out much better on the black feathers.

Okay, so my FiL will be back on the 10th, and is hopefully going to help me convert the shack in to the actual quack shack. When that goes through, the ducks and chickens will have their own stalls to sleep in. Currently all ducks and chickens are separated. In regards to their run that is planned, I don't really know.

I'd like to let the Ayam Cemani free range in the day, but I'm worried they may take off. Most of that is just because of the money invested in them. The rooster did get out the other day (my fault) and was not very happy about me trying to catch him, but he kinda just went in circles around their coop. Neither of them like being caught, freaking out till they are actually off the ground, then they'll perch on my wrist. After that they both will calm down and I can walk around the yard with them w/o them trying to fly/jump off. Think I'm just being paranoid?

I just noticed you where talking about the Malay ad I posted. I'm not actually bidding on that, though id love to. Besides being one huge chicken, they are listed as critical.
