So I think Big Poppa (formerly Donald) is getting a bit territorial over the Anconas. I haven't seen any actuall biting or attacks, but he walks towards them with his chest puffed up and they leave. He's not keeping any of the younger ducks from food or water, just sometimes decides he doesn't want them standing near him.

Formerly from Seattle, mushrooms like it there, but when we retired we wanted to try out being dry!
When my wife's boss' retire, we're taking about moving to one of the Carolinas. My wife's best friend of 20+ years lives in Greenville SC, and she'd like to live within an hour of there. She actually has a tentative job offer through another construction company they network with.

I'm not very picky on location, I just want enough land to enjoy my animals. Lol, and to get more animals too! ;)

Evening folks :frow

Chris, glad you're feeling better. Can you ID edible shrooms? We do have a mushroom foragers thread out here, if you want the link I can get it for you. I'm taking a road trip tomorrow in search of feed. So I won't be on much after the morning.
No not really. I've always enjoyed looking for them, but we have a fair amount of poisonous mushrooms here, so I don't mess with them.

I'm more educated on fungi used for gardening than I am for foraging.

I'd still have a look at that thread though.

Snoop my Runner drake does the same way with my younger Runners actually I am glad he’s making them back off that is better than trying to mate them at a young age.
Okay, doesn't sound like much to worry about for the time then. I'll just keep an eye on them.

Big Poppa is not mating yet, but I can't imagine it being much longer. Big Momma is already acting a bit submissive to him. She runs the show in general, but BP steps to the front for threats (me, airplane, ect), or herding time. When he takes the lead, she walks just off his side. Often bobbing her head in a diagonal motion, never coming up all the way (while bobbing).

Oh forgot to say looks like some veining going on in those eggs. Congrats!
I've got a few! There are at least 3 O Shamo and 2 Blue Isbar. The rest are either not developing, or just to difficult fire me to really tell. I did have one start to leak and had to remove it. :(
Ughh, it cracked on the kitchen counter.... :sick

I am letting my girls get st least 4 months before any mating gets started but already my one Fawn and white Runner at 15 weeks old is bobbing and following my Muscovy drake around. He totally ignores her but it’s pretty funny to see her walking behind him trying to get his attention. I am just thankful my Runner Drake isn’t interested. What day are your eggs on?
