Awesome!
I came home to a hatched duckling yesterday.
I hadn't even put them on "lock down" yet because I wasn't sure what day they were on since I pulled them from a broody.
I guess that one did not give a hoot about lock down lol.
5 more eggs to go. . I think they are almost ready.
One doesn't look so good though.
I really expected to find another one hatched today but not even one pip. :idunno
Congrats! This is your first duck right?
I want some pictures! Do you have a dedicated thread I could follow?

Well. .it was my first duck hatched this week :lau
This is my most recent thread I started to keep track of my call ducks. We don't do a whole lot of chatting there but there are lots of pictures.

For some reason I thought you didn't have ducks... Is it turkeys that you want but don't have? Am I just totally confused? :idunno
That tends to happen.

Yes, it is turkeys I want but don't have. I only have ducks. But I have a truck load of them rofl.

Looks like it...
Daphne is your duck!
I knew of her, just forgot she was yours. Oops!
Probably not the same Daphne your thinking of. There is someone else with a Daphne duck here. . I don't remember who right off.
This is another Cayuga duckling. I have those too. :)

Oh the cuteness is overwhelming! :love

I love Cayuga ducks. We almost landed with those, but I wasn't sure how they would handle the heat down here being from NY and all. I know it gets pretty hot up there too though. In general, would you say the handle the heat pretty well?

As long as they have plenty of shade and water I would say they handle it as well as any other. The girls get more and more white every molt too.
