Next year I want to bring in some new blood to freshen up my birds. I would like to get some Muscovies and guineas in colors that I don't already have.
If I can afford to and if I can convince my mother to let me, then that's what I plan on doing.
I honestly do need to bring in some new blood though, I'm not just making this up, even though I do really want to get some different colors I don't already have. ;)
I've been breeding the same birds for a long time and I just wanna bring in some new blood so they don't get inbred, more than anything.

I would like to get an assortment of guineas in all different colors and some Muscovies in several more rare colors like barred, ripple, looney, and\or lavender.
Looking forward to next year already!
You know how it is, you just get to thinking, and-an-d then something just kinda happens........ ;) :lau

Oh my, those are beautiful. I could just take a chair and sit there all day. I can't wait to move! Fl has some nice nature to enjoy, but nothing like NC. It's been about 17 years since I went on my hiking trips up there and it's still one of my favorite places. Thank you for the pictures!

She's so cute! :love I've always wanted to have white guineas but I've never got them before.
Maybe next year! ;)

Adorable little chick! :love

Trim are you a photographer? Your pics always look so nice and mine are always blurry. I guess that might partly be because I take the pics with the Kindle which is horrible at taking pics, but your pics always look very nice.
I've never had any formal training, but I've taken tens of thousands of pictures. Most of them I just use my phone on, but we do have a DSLR camera too. (larger camera with interchange lenses)

To get those guinea pictures I took about 20 photos and those where the ones that came out good.
A couple of tips are...
1) try not to zoom in when using a digital camera. Digital zoom causes pixelation and degrades the image quality. I never zoom in more than 2x, ever.
2) if your camera is having trouble focusing items very close up, use something metal and shiny (a ring, nickel, etc) to hold next to the item you want a picture of. The auto focus will snap right to the metal item. When it does, remove the prop and quickly snap the picture. It takes a bit of practice, but it's how I take macro shots w/o a special lens.
3) Be ready to take 10x more photos than you plan on using. The more you take the higher the chances of that "perfect" image being there.
4) Always try to remember to delete the extra photos. Being you are using a tablet (same for phones), if the memory gets to full, it will slow down the performance of the device. That's more for the quality of life vs quality of pictures though.

This fella started crowing yesterday. I think A'pollo's crow is cute, but this guy's is much easier on the ears to listen to. It's a much deeper tone.

He's gorgeous Chris! Love those colors on Apollo too! And there is Pearl!!
Thank you! All the the birds are special, but those 3 tend to catch my attention pretty regularly. I forgot to tell you. When I got the Turkens, I mentioned my guinea was alone but seemed happy with the Seramas & Silkies. She told me not to worry about getting more guineas. She too has a guinea that lives with her Silkies (birds choice) and is as happy af can be. She said there should be nothing to worry about as long as it has a flock to call family. I still sometimes feel bad about Pearl not having her own kind, but after she said that it made me feel a lot better.
